If you are like me, that is, someone who is not a wizard in mechanics, someone who has never taken a class in how to fix cars, but think that, given the right set of instructions, you can solve most of the problems with your car by yourself and save a bunch of money... this book is for you (assuming you have a Cavalier or a Sunfire, I had the later).
When I bought my Sunfire, I also bought the book, and started with the oil changes (I know, terribly basic). Then I had to change the front break lines, refill the AC, and a few other things, and it was as easy as following the instructions in the book. Yes, probably a professional mechanic would have spent half an hour (and would have billed me for three hours or so) to do something that took me all morning or all afternoon on a weekend day... but I had fun... and I saved about $700 in repairs during the year I had the car. Unfortunately, my wife had an accident and the car was totaled (I really liked that car :-( ), but that happens.
With my newer car (Toyota Camry) I also do the repairs by myself, and I can't complain. I really really recommend the Haynes Manuals. At least the two I've used, and I suppose all others are just as good.

These are great step by step manuals for auto repair. The supplier was VERY quick on shipping the order and it was well packed.
Autobarn sucks because I ordered this from them via Amazon and it said they were "in stock", then about a week later I get an email that says it is on backorder.That really p*ssed me off, so I cancelled and ordered from Advance Auto online.To speak of the book itself--it is a must-have for any Chinese Made scooter--it's not like the Chinese publish a Haynes Manual and you could understand the Chinglish if they did.This gives a lot of good information on how to do the regular maintenence and repair things on your scoot.It is pretty much the scooter bible.
Not for the novice.I've used Haynes manuals before with more modern cars (1990 and newer) and they were exceptional.However, the 1964-1973 Mustang leaves much to the imagination.Lacking are numerous illustrations and diagrams.This book assumes that you know where all of the parts are located, and what they look like.Newer Haynes books have engine overview pictures numbered and labeled.with this book, you're lucky to have a picture at all.This book doesn't even contain key data such as dwell, timing info, or engine idle speed--at least I haven't been able to find it yet.
First off, for you Mountaineer owners, you should know that the only Mountaineer content in this book is on the cover, and the odd "oh, this is the same on the Mountaineer" comment once in a while.
I WAS HOPING TO HAVE A DETAILED REPAIR MANUAL BUT ALL I GOT WAS A VERY GENERAL HOW TO.I COULD PROBABLY HAVE GOTTEN AS MUCH FREE BY DOING A GOOGLE SEARCH! EVEN A SIMPLE PROCEDURE AS TO CHANGING THE DRIVE BELTS FOR THE ALTERNATOR WAS VAGUE AT BEST AND USELESS FOR ACTUALLY REPLACING THE BELTS!
