Actron CP5011 Panel, Trim and Molding Removal Set Review

A professional tool company,one that visits dealers and repair shops weekly,sells this same exact tool set for almost double the price...I bought the "pro" set several years ago for work and the Actron set last year for home.

There's also a similar set here,from Neiko Tools. It looks similar but they're not the same. A coworker has those and the plastic is harder,it does not "give" like the Actrons so you risk the chance of damaging interior panels.

One review criticized the lack of instructions for this set,no offense but if you can't figure it out you should not be working on cars.

9 pcs 5 lb Dent Puller Set Review

This is not a good tool.The black handle came off mine almost immediately.I haven't even finished working the first dent with it yet and the nut that the slide strikes has managed to strip the thread off the bar.The threads are not well cut and I get the impression that the tool in general is made of too-soft metal.

I'd highly recommend finding a different slide hammer.

Door Spring Compressor Tool Review

In the past 15 years, I've owned 2 Astros and one GMC Sonoma,. Total miles OVER 1,000,000 miles, as my Astro were used in my courier service in North California.
As you can imagine, the driver's door hinge on my Astros took a SEVERE beating, so I borrowed one of these spring compressors from a friend who owned a body shop.
This I did AFTER I made a jury-rig made of a bolt and washers with notches cut into the opposite sides of the two washer to enable a spring to be threaded through and tightened to squeeze the spring. It worked, but just barely.
When Pilgrim loaned me his compressor, the job went 'lickety-split.
Now I have my own compressor to fix my Sonoma door. I'm looking forward to a quick and eaqsy replacement of the bushings.
I rate this tool, a FOUR STAR rating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Northern Industrial Dent Puller Review

This product works great for it's intended purpose - large dents that weren't created from a high-impact crash.I accidentally kicked a large dent in my door by trying to kick it closed when my hands where full.The dent was about the size of a youth soccer ball.The heavy duty dent puller pulled it out within a few tries without using adhesive such as other products.There is still evidence that the car was damaged (a ding mark), but it looks a helluva lot better than it did with a huge dent.I had another dent from a high-impact accident I had with a deer and I got close to pulling it out but ultimately couldn't because the suction would release whenever i got close to pulling it out (although this dent was more serious and has been on my car for several years).I highly recommend giving this product a try for low-impact, larger dents. I can't attest to how it works with small dings and dents but am guessing by that other products may be better for those because the size of this product's suction mouth is rather wide.

Dura Lube HL-48901-06 Pro Fix 6 Body Shop Repair Kit Review

My wife's new blue Nissan Rogue received two scratches after only a few months, which I couldn't remove with a clear-coat scratch remover, and I felt wasn't worth making a small problem potentially larger with sanding & touch-up. I was VERY skeptical of this product (as I am all things 'As seen on TV!'), but decided to take a chance (it's less than ten bucks). On scratch #1, it disappeared completely. I couldn't even find it when I left to get my wife to show her. On scratch #2, which had a small hook in it (sort of like the letter 'J'), it made it about 75% better (the only part you really see if you look hard is the hook). On either scratch, if you didn't know they were there, you would never find them. It took me about 4 minutes to fix both. The product was well worth it, and after a week of rain and a car wash, the scratches are still invisible. Now, I agree with others here in that if one of the six colors isn't your car color, you may have different results (I did not have to mix colors). Because you are filling in a tiny scratch, as long as the color is in the same family, you'll be fine. Also, why white isn't included is beyond me. Basically if you have a white car, you cannot use this product. Beyond that, I recommend this product. Your results really depend on your car's color and how deep your scratch is (if you are down to the metal and have a deep gouge, nothing is going to work). Good luck...and damn the shopping cart Gods!
