Turtle Wax T-221 Wet'n Black Tire Gel Review

Once we get others past the "absurd" notion of treating our tires with product then it is very nice to see an advance from the bad old days of Armor All spinning off your spiffy clean & "conditioned" tires all over the wheels, or worse, the finish of the vehicle.

Turtle Wax "Wet -n- Black" is quite a thick gel that is easy to manage and spreads quite well over a large area so you get better bang for buck.

I am a first time user, this evening, so will have to update post as to longevity, etc. but the initial applications went quite smoothly [two are recommended for vehicles like mine that haven't been detailed recently or to obtain SUPER wet & black...], and thus far it is living up to expectations with nice black shiny "wet" wheels, little trouble with run off or smear over, relative ease of handling [proper purple medical service type gloves are recommended when handling this and all other vehicle detailing chemicals] and no horrid smell or strange color to limit the application - doe anybody remember the Tire Gel with Glitter incorporated ??? spoooky.

Bonus round: this stuff is thick enough that it can easily be used on dark or light rubber molding / trim elements without fear of discoloration... going to try it on some weather stripping next.

Grip Tech 96011 Contour Wipe Out, clamshell Review

I am from the old school of detailing - use only super clean soft 100% cotton rags to wipe down a vehicle after a thorough wash.I thought these would surely scratch the dickens out of the paint finish and leave cavernous gouges.Boy, was I ever wrong.These will not scratch the paint as long as the surface is very clean.It sure cuts the drying time to almost nothing.A quick follow up with a chamois to get those hard to reach spots and you are done.If you drop the squeegy be sure to clean it well before using it again to avoid any potential scratching from the dirt.

Turtle Wax T-420B6 ClearVue Glass Cleaner - 32 oz. Review

This glass cleaner is the worst product ever created. It leaves streaks the size of Dallas all over the windows, and when you try to wipe them away, it just creates more. I had to re-wash my car just to get them to go away. I could get better results with a homeless dude, his spit, and a newspaper. Don't ever buy this because you will have a stroke from rage. I hate this product.

Buffing Pad Cleaning Tool Review

This tool is excellent for removing dried, caked-on compound/polish from wool buffing/polishing pads.Just a few short runs over the pad and all of the residue is dislodged and the pad is clean again!

It didn't get five stars because of the low quality construction of the tool and the shipping rate is astounding.How can shipping cost more than the product?It's constructed of galvanized steel sheeting with rivets, so I highly doubt the long term usability and quality of this tool.

LANGKA Complete Paint Chip Repair Kit Review

I have a 2005 Honda Element with a nice metallic Sunset Orange Pearl finish.I've had some chips on the front hood but nothing that really spurred me into action until some #$%@ intentionally scratch the rear quarter panel of my car.Why??Who knows why these jerks do what they do.I take pains to be considerate to others and things like this unfortunately still occur.I called several body shops and got quotes from $350 to $750 to repair this scratch.This led me to ask my car enthusiast friend and he recommended the Langka product.I did some research on the web and also browsed some car forums where the administrator detailed how the product is applied and the technique.I figured I had nothing to lose as $40 plus $8 for the dealer touch up paint was a whole heck better than even the cheapest body shop quote.

I started by applying the touch up paint on Friday afternoon and let it dry for over 12 hours until the next morning.I then used the blue flat card which comes with the kit which you wrap with a tightly woven cloth (in this case, I used an old bed sheet which I cut into a size which I could wrap tightly around the credit card size plastic.)I then applied the blob eliminator to the cloth closest to the edge of the plastic and began to use a back and forth action on the chips where I had applied the touch up paint.The trick is to apply enough so that the dried paint is above the surrounding surface.I learned that the touch up paint can shrink when it dries and that what may seem enough initially the next morning may turn out to be not enough and you can still see an indention.If you want a smooth finish, there really is no point in starting the process if the hole is not fully filled.I began on a variety of chips on the front hood and was successful for the most part.The one thing I noticed however is that on a few of the filled in chips, I noticed a darkened ring around the perimeter of the fill; just perceptible enough that you can notice the repair if you are looking closely.Overall, most casual car people will find this kit very useful as only a very detailed inspection will reveal where the chips have been repaired.You can also print out a very detailed step by step instruction guide from various web sites which carry the Langka product.

Now, you're probably wondering, didn't he say he bought this for the 5" scratch that @#$%& (may he burn in hell)left on his rear quarter panel?Yes...scratches are a different story and even the online guides warn that scratches require much more patience and may require several tries.I placed an ample amount of touch up paint on the scratch and waited overnight before tackling the scratch.The scratch was more difficult to tackle since it was on a vertical surface versus the chips on the hood which were on a horizontal surface.I worked very gingerly as to not pull the paint out of the scratch.Alas, whereas I was able to keep the touch up paint in the deep scratch, some of it did pull out enough so that you can still make out the scratch.The good news is that the primary mission of keeping the scratch from rusting and protecting the finish has been achieved.The bad news is that on my first go, the scratch is still visible though the color is matching now.The darkened ring around the scratch also reared its head on the scratch as it did on 2 of the chips.I am not quite sure if this is a byproduct of the blob eliminator or dust or some other impurity on the finish of the vehicle.I will probably at some time in the future have another go at the scratch since my priority was to get the car protected in time for my trip to snow country this upcoming week.All in all, I was pleased with the product.I feel it performs much better at chip repair rather than scratch repair; Hence the 3 stars rather than 4 stars.You can't beat the value of doing it yourself for under $50 rather than $350-$750 for a 5" scratch.

I will amend this review at a later date to update my progress on the scratch if I find time to have another go at it.

Turtle Wax T-240KT Headlight Lens Restorer Kit Review

Simply put, it does what's it's supposed to. This bad boy turned my almost beyond redemption - yellow crust covered headlights into working headlights again. It didn't turned them into 100% "like new" headlights but it did restore about 90% of their long gone "Like new" look. Which was more than enough to pass with flying colors the rigorous Maryland State inspection, which was basically the reason I purchased this thing in the first place.

Just a word of warning: Grab yourself a low stool or chair to sit down in front of your headlights at a comfortable level and 2 or 3 servings of the cold drink of your choice and Be prepared to spend the most boring hour of your life rubbing this thing until your forearms go numb. Yes, this thing works but it's 50% elbow grease powered. But for 10 bucks and with the included pads, you can't go wrong. Oh, and you'll only spend about 1/4 of the contents on the job (2 headlights). So I'd say this kit lasts enough to restore the headlights in 4 vehicles. 1 more thing: Make sure to have a little bit of car wax at hand before starting the job. You'll need it at the end to seal the finish and it's not included in the kit. (I noticed this just when I was ready to begin and I had to drop everything and make a run to store for some wax) All in all, just for the bang for your buck and the effectiveness of the product, 5 stars.

Quixx Paint Scratch Remover Review

I decided to order this product base on the reviews i read also did some extra study on similar products. This is probably my best bet for it's price.

I have rather deep key mark (show primer) and a few fine scratch on my new blue car. As it said on the directions if you have deep scratch you need to get the match paint for it. so we went over to Wal mart and get one of those 5 dollar repair paint that come with a small brush and ball pen in same bottle (they come in several known brand and color such as TOYOTA , FORD, GM, etc;) I also saw the same products at Kregen too.

First i wipe clean the surface with wet cloth and then very lightly wet sand to smooth it up with the sand paper provided it in the kit then wipe clean, The sand paper is 3000 grid which is very fine and did a good job for it's purpose. I like it much better than the 2000 grid one they sell at automotive store. Only if they give you more than just a few strips i will be alot happier.

Then I use the brush side to paint on the bigger scratch area and use the ball pen for finer line. Let dry for few hours. And to make sure i really fill those scratch well I re apply the paint and let dry.

After the paint completely dry use wet sand to very gently sand the excess paint off ( this part scared me the most because they said it very clear not to expose the primer, So take your time and be very gentle). When you are done with sanding the scratch should feel very smooth to the touch. It still look very visible but after i use cream no. 1 (buff hard) it look better so i decided to do it again twice. After 3 applications of cream no.1 and finished it with cream no.2 the scratch almost disappear. I still can see it a little but i know where to look for it. It does not take away the scratch completely but did improve and lighten alot. I think it's reasonable enough for it's price. If they sell this for 100 dollar then i will expect much better result.

As for fine scratch i have to admit that it works like magic. All i need to do is clean the surface, apply cream no.1 and make sure to let it sit then buff buff buff hard! , Cream no.2 give it super glossy shine. The scratch are completely gone. I was very happy with the result.

Simoniz Fix It Pro Clear Coat Scratch Repair Pen Review

This product does not work! At all, it's like putting clear nail polish on your scratch, what a great idea.
Followed instructions as written, but only made my scratch look worse.
And the felt tip in the pen got jammed up the pen, so even if I wanted to continue to use it I couldn't.
Stay away, save your money, looks appealing on the infomercial, but does not work at all.
If I could give it negative 5 stars I would!
