Q Industries HV40A2 SuperFlow Portable Air Compressor with LED Light Review

Ok.. I didn't get this from Amazon. I got it from Steve's Tools for about 5$ more.
Needed it now because my old crappy $15 pump finally died.

Pros.
Real smooth and well balanced.This thing doesn't jump around at all.
Fill speed is good, but not for large tires.
For those get the version that clamps to battery terminals.

This one topped off my P255-75R15 in decent time.
However, filling up my 60PSI doughnut spare took a while.
I don't think there is much head space for the higher pressures.
This is where the screw-on air chuck was useful.

The pressure gauge actually works and is accurate.
The switches are separate for pump and LED lights.

The handle is actually a metal heat shield for the output.
Run this pump for a while airing up a 60 PSI spare and you
will understand why it needs a heat shield.

The unit comes with a bag.Not the highest quality but
sufficient for storing the pump and a few other odds and ends.

Cons.
The screw-on air chuck can be a pain, but just overfill a bit before taking it off.
The air hose is adequate for reaching front and back tires on one side,
but you have to move the pump from one side of the vehicle to the other.
The LED lamps aren't that bright, and the blinkers are only three white LEDs.
You have to put in a red filter.They should have been red LEDs.

I'm reserving comment on the lighter connector.Looks a bit cheap compared to the
rest of this unit.

All in all I'm happy.

Slime COMP06 Pro Power Heavy-Duty Tire Inflator Review

I'm writing this review because the Amazon description doesn't inform you that you NEED 15 amps to power the device as clearly stated in the owner's manual. Unfortunately, I didn't know this before purchase so when I plugged it into my Honda Pilot which only supplies 10 amps, it didn't work. I called Slime customer service who confirmed that all their products require 15 amps.

Check your car owner's manual to make sure your power socket supplies 15 amps!

I'm giving it 5 stars because the device itself looks very high quality with a nice storage case. Slime customer service was also speedy and helpful. Too bad the Amazon item description was inadequate.

UPDATE: I have since bought the Black & Decker ASI300 Air Station Inflator which works great with my car.

Slime COMP03 12-Volt Air Compressor with Gauge and Light (300 PSI) Review

I used the compressor to add air to 4 tires, approx. 5-7 psi per tire and it worked fine, didn't take too long.However, there are 2 problems with the device - 1. After adding air to 2 tires the rubber inside the nozzle was already ripping and becoming unattached so that it would get in the way when trying to connect it to the valve stem, after 4 tires it was very ripped up.2. The compressor vibrates so much that you can't put it onthe ground while running or it falls over.I guess that's the price you pay for the light weight of the compressor.While the rubber seal is a concern, it's not enough for me to return the compressor because it did work.I only hope the seal doesn't get so bad that the nozzle won't keep a good connection with the valve stem.

Q Industries MV89G Green SuperFlow Air Compressor Review

I purchased this compressor on Amazon.Com. When I received it, it had a broken buckle on the carring bag, and one of the battery clips was completely in pieces, (broken), very tinny and cheaply made.
I returned it immediately, and would not advise anyone to waste their money on this item.
This is the poorest quality product that I have ever gotten from Amazon.com, and if I receive anything in the future that falls into this grade of JUNK, I will find other merchants to buy from.

Slime 40003 Smart Spair Tire Sealant and Inflator Kit Review

I bought this kit as a "spare spare" for my SUV.You never know when one spare is enough and getting out of the back country is important.

It has everythong I need, but the inflator (air pump) is too wimpy.The warnings instruct:

1. Do not operate for more than 8 minutes continuously.
2. Allow compressor to cool 25 minutes between uses.

It's probably good enough for a car, but I'm getting a more capable compressor for the SUV.I don't care if it pumps slow, as long as it won't break if I forget to set a timer.

The other troubling thing is the warning to run the compressor only with the engine turned off.Over voltage protection isn't that expensive and I don't want to risk discharging my battery.When far from civilization, a dead battery is worse than a flat tire.

Q Industries MF1089 MasterFlow Twin Air Compressor Review

Bought Viair 300 this Dec/09 and 2 weeks later a superflow MF 1089 for my son. I decided to compare the inflation pressure attained by each compressor at a run time of 90 seconds for each. Using my spare tire 245-45-18 deflated down to zero PSI.
My results:Viair 300 attained 32.5 PSI at 90 seconds.
MF-1089 attaine 35.5 PSI at 90 seconds.
Durability and reliability are different issues and only time and usage will tell. To me, they both look well made. Viair is a single compressor and MF-1089 is double.
Viair weighs about 8 Lbs & MF about 18 Lbs. Viair has standard quick connectors while MF.s is not. It.s their own but it's well made. MF 1089 has more versatilities with their tire chuck connectors and is priced less than Viair.
My personal preference: MF 1089.
