Gave it a one because it does not fit my car, may be fine otherwize!!
I typically purchase K&N filters for my vehicles, but for the price I decided to try it out since it looked to be a comparable product.All I can say is wow!If you ask me the construction of the Air Hog is better than K&N.It has a very nice rubber surrounding that gives the filter stability.Also the gasket fits the air housing perfectly.Normally with K&N you need to add an additional rubber stick-on gasket.
This filter is a direct replacement for a K&N.It is the same design which uses multi-layers of cotton and spray oil as a filter media.I've compared both side by side and have determined this to be a better quality filter by way of construction.This filter replaced the standard paper filter used in a 1999 motorhome with a Ford V-10, 6.8 L engine.This in combination with a large flow master muffler using 3 inch inlet and outlet increased the fuel mileage by approximately 2 1/2 miles per gallon.This is a significant increase. This trip was taken from Santa Fe New Mexico to Detroit, Michigan using a cruise control at a speed of 63 to 64 mph on the freeway.Other observations include a feeling of increased horsepower and smoother operation.I do hope this helps you in your decision on whether to purchase a product like this.Please keep in mind that these filters require periodic cleaning and re-oiling to keep them working efficiently.This filter was a much better buy here on Amazon as it ended up costing about 40% of the cost of a K&N.This filter can also use the K&N cleaning kit for future maintenance.
I have used K&N Filters and have found that the Air Hog is just as good if not better than its competitor, I have been using them in my Vehicles for the last 4 years. Keeping them Clean is important so make sure you get a cleaning kit, you can use a K&N one if you cant find an Air Hog. For the price you cant beat this
When I searched for a high performance air filter for my 03 corolla, amazon lead me to this item.However, when I received the item it was to large for my air box.I returned the item and amazon refunded the purchase price.Not really a product review but a warning to others looking for a filter compatible with a corolla.
This items has a rugged construction and so far (2weeks)It has performed as they claim.I am happy with this purchase.
fram air hog is top of the line easy to install and get better gas milage plus Amazon has a great sale on them plus they will last for years.
Item was listed as fitting a 2004 Jeep Wrangler 2.4l but what I received was the 4.0l version, I think.Either way it didnt fit my Jeep.Thats what I get for buying auto parts on Amazon...
I bought this for my 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue. It looks good than other Air filters. But the only problem is it's hard to install it. The edge of this air filter is harder than others. When I tried to replace the old one, I had to remove the hose of the air box. Anyway, after successfully installing, I can feel the difference between this one and the regular one. It's worth buying.Just like a K+N filter only cheaper.You can always get the K+N cleaning kit for it.Check the fram website for your model, and there won't be any confusion.
I could immediately tell a difference in acceleration and power after installing this filter. It also improved my gas mileage.
