FRAM PPA7351 Air Hog Panel Filter Review

A filter is a filter, not much difference between one and another.I haven't needed to clean this filter yet so I can't say anything about that.However, this filter did not fit snuggly in a Camry 98 4cy 1.1L.The filter housing has rounded corners and this filter has square corners, so after putting it in, the filter bent up a little.No problems since the cover will push the filter down, but it would have been nice to have a better fit.

Fram PH7317 Extra Guard Passenger Car Spin-On Oil Filter Review

The Fram Extra Guard oil filter is what I typically use on my car at oil change time. They are typically the lowest cost filter that isn't generic. They have always worked well for me so I have no complaints. One nice feature is the top of the filter is coated with a material that allows your oil filter wrench grip it well so it doesn't slide off when trying to tighten or loosen it.

FRAM PPA7597 Air Hog Panel Filter Review

I typically purchase K&N filters for my vehicles, but for the price I decided to try it out since it looked to be a comparable product.All I can say is wow!If you ask me the construction of the Air Hog is better than K&N.It has a very nice rubber surrounding that gives the filter stability.Also the gasket fits the air housing perfectly.Normally with K&N you need to add an additional rubber stick-on gasket.

FRAM PRA8039 Air Hog Round Filter Review

This filter is a direct replacement for a K&N.It is the same design which uses multi-layers of cotton and spray oil as a filter media.I've compared both side by side and have determined this to be a better quality filter by way of construction.This filter replaced the standard paper filter used in a 1999 motorhome with a Ford V-10, 6.8 L engine.This in combination with a large flow master muffler using 3 inch inlet and outlet increased the fuel mileage by approximately 2 1/2 miles per gallon.This is a significant increase. This trip was taken from Santa Fe New Mexico to Detroit, Michigan using a cruise control at a speed of 63 to 64 mph on the freeway.Other observations include a feeling of increased horsepower and smoother operation.I do hope this helps you in your decision on whether to purchase a product like this.Please keep in mind that these filters require periodic cleaning and re-oiling to keep them working efficiently.This filter was a much better buy here on Amazon as it ended up costing about 40% of the cost of a K&N.This filter can also use the K&N cleaning kit for future maintenance.

The Fram filter is very good. But for the money take a look at Mann filters. The FRAM was similar in quality but the price was much more than Mann. By the way, do not waste your money buying K&N filter products. They are good in quality but their cost do not justify there outrageous prices. Just do your research and you will see for yourself.

FRAM PPA7344 Air Hog Panel Filter Review

I purchased two of these for different vehicles, they are built well and are purportedly 'lifetime' filters with the correct maintenance.

I bought these with a rebate and actually ended up getting both for free, can't beat that.

Not much you can say about an air cleaner except that it works and fits well, I haven't had to clean it yet but I did see the cleaning kit was fairly reasonable unlike the K&N models.

I just want to buy a compartment air filter for my car to avoid the dust in my car. But I don't know whether my car has the compartment air filter. The dealer told me it is for GL or GLX, not for my GX. I did some research before I bought this filter. The 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue GX does not have a compartment air filter. But you can install it in the outage by yourself. The best thing is there is an instruction for how to install this filter in the air filter's box. I had already installed it in my car. FRAM PPA3901 Air Hog Panel Filter Review

I did actually observe a noted decrease in my MPG directly after changing from a cheap-o paper filter to this oiled marvel.

Perhaps it does trap smaller particles than a cheap drop in, but I am not sure if it is worth the reduction in mileage.

Other than that I notice no difference (no power gains, no noise change, nothing).This went in both of my Renix Jeep Cherokee's.
