Haynes Dodge and Plymouth Vans (71 - 99) Manual Review

Haynes Dodge and Plymouth Vans ManualIt's a Haynes. It's not an OEM shop manual. It's condensed, and full of statements like "Others similar" and "On most models". Granted the van hasn't changed that much, but there are things that is simply does not cover.

For example, my 1999 RAM 1500 has two switches in the transmission (I've been trying to ID them for a while) - the manual says there is only one on all models - neutral and reverse have been combined into one.

Overall I don't feel that buying a condensed manual like this is suitable for a beginner - it's hard to infer and generalize when you don't have the basics, and this manual will require you do a lot of that.If you are a seasoned tinkerer and simply need the proper procedures and amounts/torque specs for reference, it will do fine.

On the bright side, it is quite adequate (and much better than not having one) for simple tasks - repacking bearings, changing brake components, etc.

In summary, if you can get the OEM for slightly more money, I would.I got this (on Amazon) so cheap that it just made sense.
